Oklahoma City National Memorial

Posted May 1st, 2011 by lance with No Comments

I recently took a trip out to Oklahoma City to visit my brother and his wife. During the stay, I took the opportunity to visit the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial site. We actually visited the site just days after the 16 year anniversary of the event, and I snapped several photos of the grounds. The memorial certainly serves as a chilling reminder of what happened that fateful day in 1995, though it hardly seems as though it has been that long. I was especially moved by the tile mural composed of individual tiles created by local students soon after the attack that are now a permanent fixture at the memorial.

Interestingly, there was also a small group of protestors handing out pamphlets and holding signs asking for a more thorough investigation into the incident.

Fresh Snow

We here in Northeast Ohio get to ‘enjoy’ late snowfall pretty much every year. Just when you think the weather is starting to finally turn, you get blasted with a storm. We will probably even get hit again in April! One positive I can take from this one, is I thought it would be a good opportunity to run out and get some photos of the fresh snowfall. No matter what your feelings on snow, I think we can all agree that it does make for some beautiful scenery.

Key West Trip

In September I took a trip down to Key West Florida. Of course I took my camera, and thought I would share some of my favorite images from the trip.

Key West really is a cool little town (seriously, it’s TINY) and the famous sunset celebration at Mallory Square does not disappoint. Stunning views of the sunset over the ocean, and talented street performers coupled with the excited atmosphere make for a great time!
